From Student to Accountant

My Learning Journey at CQUniversity

Intro.

Hey, my name is Daniella, but I like Danii for short.
I live on the sunny Gold Coast with my husband and three children.
I originally moved from Coventry, England, when I was 15, with my parents and little brother.
Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Accounting full-time intending to pursue a career in forensic accounting, working part-time in upholstery, and I volunteer one day a week at my children’s school.

In my limited free time, I like to read, skate, exercise and go camping with my close family and friends.

It will be a pleasure to connect and study with you all this semester.

Step 7: Cost Items   For my first item I chose the domain name registry, specifically the .net generic domain and for 2 years. A domain name is the identity string for the realm that the website is hosted in. for example ‘.com.au’ is obviously for Australian websites. Domain name registry pricing: 2 years for… Read more

KCQ’s Chapter 4. As I get further and further into this unit, I am beginning to realise how much information is contained in a firm’s financial statements, and how it helps to paint a picture of the realities and possible future of a company. I have looked at financial reports before, but I will be… Read more

Accounting. What is it? I have been pondering this exact same question for about 2 months now, ever since I chose to change my study plans, from a Bachelor of Sonography to a Bachelor of Accounting. I made this sudden change because of 1. I want to be around for my three children while they… Read more

  1. Hi Danii,
Just thought I’d share these thoughts with you. I hope it is an interesting read. Enjoy!

Danii’s blog page is beautifully presented and easy to navigate. Danii seems to have a passion for accounting and wants to cultivate that into a new career to make a better lifestyle choice for her family. Despite her challenges at the moment she has a positive outlook and is willing to do the best she can to achieve her goal. Danii is honest in her views and transfers them well onto paper. I found Danii’s KCQ’s well written and succinct. I look forward to reading more of her work.

  2. Hi Danii. I am digging your blog and you are in my top 3! Here’s why:

There is something about Danii’s blog that I find very calming. I realise that sounds a bit weird, but I find myself physically relaxing when I enter her world. The images she uses on her home page (sunlight through a forest canopy and her family etched in a sunset) create a very chilled vibe which appeals to me. The layout of her blogs makes me feel like she is very organised and this is only reinforced as I read her KCQs and financial statements. Danii has a real talent for making sense of the information she has encountered in this unit and I can see her aptitude for accounting. I have to commend Danii for her ability to produce exceptional work around volunteering, working and being a Mum to her 3 kids.

  3. Hi Danii, Wow – kids, full-time uni, part-time work, and you volunteer??? Holy moly you must be exhausted but very fulfilled at the same time. I love your blog, what you have written about your organisation, the detail….everything about it – I was just writing on Bec Bamford’s how inspiring it is that you are so passionate about accounting. It takes me a lot to get into anything maths related and even sitting here at the uni now working I have a psych essay that I would much rather be working on…….

So more power to you ladies for being so amazing….all the best of luck.

  4. Hi Dani !
I am tad late on this.
Yet the blog is super easy to navigate. You need not to go here and there for information. Very simple yet elegant blog by you makes her it one of my favorite one. Your insight and presentation of KCQ is very interesting and eye opening on the reading aspect. My one suggestion would be to separate sections and steps of assignment. Rest to that, everything looks perfect.

    Good Day

I am preparing feedback for ASS#2 step 4 for you. I have reviewed step 3 but haven’t found any feedbacks you have done for step 4. Have you done any?
